Alaskan flowers

Flowers are fascinating, particularly when you can see them clearly enough to really get a grasp on their intricate details. A dandelion gone to seed, ready for a child to pick and blow it into the wind. Lupine in a field of grass, or a wild rosebud just barely blossoming.

My Passion - Photography

Hi friends,

As many of you know, I have always loved the camera. Well, if I'm behind it, that is. :-) Photos of me are a different story. Growing up in a family where the video camera was always out, I learned at an early age to recognize and appreciate good photo ops. My dad's passion was videography, and while I enjoyed watching him, and yes, helping out sometimes, it wasn't my forte. I spent many hours messing around with inexpensive 35mm cameras taking pictures galore of anything and everything I could think of. Eventually I moved a little more upscale and bought myself a digital one. Still nothing fancy, but I soon realized that with a little effort and practice, I could find some pretty cool shots.

Nothing is more satisfying to me than bringing to life something that most people would otherwise overlook. My passion is for scenery, animals, and nature in general. A flower by the road, sea otters' curiosity getting the best of them, or maybe a honeybee on a salmonberry blossom. God's creation is breathtaking, and never ceases to amaze me! I absolutely love to get out and enjoy it, and then, through my pictures, to give others a glimpse of the beauty I've seen!

Feel free to email me at akgirlphotography@gmail.com with any questions or comments. Prints, cards, and calenders will be available to purchase soon. I'll keep you posted.
